How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Set a decline bench to a moderate angle, secure your feet at its high end, and anchor a resistance band low behind the lower end of the bench.
  2. 02Hold the band ends beside your shoulders and lie back until your torso is supported, keeping light band tension.
  3. 03Brace your abdomen, tuck your chin slightly, and curl your ribs toward your pelvis to sit up against the band.
  4. 04Stop before the movement becomes a hip-driven jerk or the lower back overarches.
  5. 05Lower slowly to the supported position while controlling the band's pull, reset, and repeat.
