Step-by-step instructions
- 01Straddle an Atlas stone with your feet wide enough to clear it, hinge down, and wedge your hands and forearms as far underneath it as possible.
- 02Brace your trunk, squeeze the stone tightly, and extend your knees and hips to lift it onto your thighs as you sit into the lap position.
- 03Reposition your arms higher around the stone, pull it firmly into your chest, and bring your feet into a strong stance.
- 04Extend your hips and knees forcefully while rolling the stone up your torso and guiding it onto one shoulder.
- 05Stabilize the stone briefly, then return it to the floor or designated drop area under control and clear your body before it lands.
