How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Fix a barbell securely in a rack at about waist height and confirm that it cannot roll or lift from the supports.
  2. 02Lie beneath the bar, take a close supinated grip, extend the legs, and form a straight line from head to heels.
  3. 03Brace the abdomen and glutes, then pull the lower chest toward the bar with the elbows tracking close to the torso.
  4. 04Pause near the bar without shrugging, bending at the hips, or letting the wrists collapse.
  5. 05Lower under control to straight arms while maintaining the rigid body line, then reset before repeating.
