How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Stand in a strict military stance with the axle supported at the front of your shoulders and your hands spaced evenly on the thick bar.
  2. 02Brace your abdomen and glutes, keep your legs straight, and maintain a stacked rib cage without using leg drive.
  3. 03Press the axle overhead, moving your head slightly back to clear the bar and then bringing it forward once the bar passes.
  4. 04Finish with your elbows extended and the axle balanced over your shoulders, hips, and midfoot.
  5. 05Lower the axle to your shoulders under control, reset your brace, and repeat without bending your knees to initiate the press.
