How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Stand with the barbell at arm's length in your snatch grip, feet in your pulling stance, and your weight balanced over the whole foot.
  2. 02Brace your trunk, then hinge slightly and bend the knees until the bar rests at the upper thighs with the shoulders directly above it.
  3. 03Reverse direction and push vertically through the floor, extending the hips and knees forcefully while keeping the bar against the body.
  4. 04After full extension, shrug and pull the elbows high and out to raise the bar toward the chest without leaning back or turning it over overhead.
  5. 05Keep the bar close as you lower it under control, absorb it at the high hang with bent knees, and reset your posture before repeating.
