How to perform it
Step-by-step instructions
- 01Place a light bar on the upper traps with a snatch grip, set your squat stance, and brace the trunk before the bar leaves the back.
- 02Begin a controlled descent into an overhead squat while pressing the bar straight up from behind the neck, without using a dip-and-drive to launch it.
- 03Keep constant upward pressure through the arms as you move under the bar, and rotate the shoulders so the bar finishes directly over the middle of the foot.
- 04Settle into the bottom with locked elbows, an upright chest, and even pressure through both feet before changing direction.
- 05Stand up from the squat under control, stabilize overhead, and lower the bar safely back to the upper traps before resetting.
