Step-by-step instructions
- 01Set an incline bench to about 45 degrees, place a light EZ bar beyond its head end, and lie face down with your chest fully supported.
- 02Grip the bar overhand at shoulder width and bring it near your upper chest with your elbows bent and upper arms roughly parallel to the floor.
- 03Brace your abdomen and press the bar diagonally forward until your elbows are extended, keeping your chest and hips against the bench.
- 04Pause at full reach with your neck neutral and without shrugging or arching your lower back.
- 05Bend your elbows to return the bar toward your upper chest under control along the same path.
