How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Sit near the front of a stability ball with both feet wide and fully planted.
  2. 02Brace gently and reach one arm overhead without shrugging.
  3. 03Lean the trunk toward the opposite side until a comfortable stretch is felt along the overhead arm, lat, and side of the torso.
  4. 04Keep both hips on the ball, breathe normally, and hold about 30 seconds without rolling the ball.
  5. 05Return upright under control and repeat for about 30 seconds on the other side.
