How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Anchor a resistance band securely above shoulder height at one side and stand far enough away to maintain light tension.
  2. 02Hold the band with both hands near the anchored-side shoulder, then step away from the anchor into a lateral lunge.
  3. 03As you sit your hips back over the lunging leg, pull your hands diagonally across your body toward the outside of that leg.
  4. 04Keep the lunging foot planted, the knee aligned with its toes, and your trunk controlled as your hips and upper back rotate together.
  5. 05Drive through the lunging foot to stand while returning your hands to the high position, then complete the prescribed repetitions before changing sides.
