How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Hold one dumbbell with both hands, take a stable split stance, and start with the weight high beside one shoulder.
  2. 02Brace your trunk, keep your feet planted, and allow only controlled rotation through the torso and upper back.
  3. 03Chop the dumbbell diagonally across your body toward the hip opposite the starting shoulder.
  4. 04Pause briefly in the low position without collapsing the front knee or jerking the weight with your arms.
  5. 05Reverse the same diagonal path under control, complete the side, and then change your stance and direction.
