How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Place your front foot fully on a low, stable platform, step the other foot behind you, and secure the bar across your upper back.
  2. 02Set a balanced split stance, brace your trunk, and keep your pelvis facing forward.
  3. 03Bend both knees to lower vertically under control while keeping the elevated front foot planted.
  4. 04Descend only as far as you can keep your front heel down, your front knee aligned with its toes, and your trunk stable.
  5. 05Drive through the elevated front foot to rise without moving your feet, then complete the prescribed repetitions before switching sides.
