How to perform it
Step-by-step instructions
- 01Set the barbell level on stable pulling blocks at the programmed height and take your clean grip with the feet in the pulling stance.
- 02Match the posture you would have at that point of a clean from the floor, brace firmly, and balance over the whole foot before breaking the bar from the blocks.
- 03Push vertically with the legs, keep the bar close, and extend the hips and knees forcefully to accelerate it after it passes the thighs.
- 04Pull the elbows high and out as you move your feet to the receiving stance, then whip the elbows through and meet the bar securely on the shoulders above a parallel squat.
- 05Brake the descent, stand to full extension with the front rack stable, and lower or drop the bar onto the center of the blocks only after the area is clear.
