How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Stand tall with the bar resting against the thighs, hands shoulder width apart in an overhand grip, and wrists held neutral.
  2. 02Brace the trunk, keep the elbows pinned near the ribs, and avoid using the hips or shoulders to start the rep.
  3. 03Curl the bar upward by bending the elbows until the forearms approach vertical and the bar reaches the upper waist or lower chest line.
  4. 04Squeeze the forearms and brachialis briefly at the top without letting the wrists fold back or the shoulders roll forward.
  5. 05Lower the bar slowly to full elbow extension and reset before the next repetition.
