How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Face away from a stable decline bench and place the whole front foot on its raised padded end, with the rear foot on the floor behind you.
  2. 02Hold a dumbbell in each hand, square your hips, and keep most of your pressure through the elevated front foot.
  3. 03Bend both knees and lower mostly straight down while the rear heel rises naturally.
  4. 04Stop at the deepest position that keeps the front foot planted, the knee aligned with its toes, and the pelvis controlled.
  5. 05Drive through the elevated front foot to stand, complete the set, and then switch legs.
