Step-by-step instructions
- 01Stand tall with the bar at the thighs in an overhand grip, hands about shoulder width apart, and the ribs stacked over the pelvis.
- 02Reverse-curl the bar toward shoulder height by bending the elbows without swinging the torso or letting the elbows flare wide.
- 03At the top, bring the elbows and wrists into a controlled pressing position so the bar is balanced at the upper chest or front of the shoulders.
- 04Press the bar overhead in a smooth line while keeping the trunk braced and the low back from arching excessively.
- 05Lower the bar to the shoulders, return it to the reverse-curl position, and then bring it back to the thighs under control.
