How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Place your forearms shoulder-width apart on a padded surface and spread the hands firmly for balance.
  2. 02Lift the hips, walk the feet inward, and kick or press into the inversion only when the shoulders are stable.
  3. 03Stack the shoulders over the elbows and push strongly through the entire forearm to elevate the upper back.
  4. 04Keep the ribs contained, legs reaching upward, and neck neutral without allowing the head to bear weight.
  5. 05Lower one leg at a time under control as soon as balance or shoulder position begins to fail.
