Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Hold a light resistance band with both hands, soften your knees, and hinge forward at your hips with your arms hanging beneath your shoulders.
  2. 02Maintain a neutral spine, brace your trunk, and keep a slight fixed bend in your elbows.
  3. 03Pull the band apart by moving your hands out to the sides and drawing your shoulder blades gently toward each other.
  4. 04Stop when your arms are approximately in line with your torso, keeping your shoulders away from your ears.
  5. 05Return your hands toward each other slowly while maintaining band tension and the same hip-hinge position.
