Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Anchor a resistance band high and slightly in front of you, then take a half-kneeling stance facing the anchor at roughly a 45-degree angle.
  2. 02Grasp the band with the outside hand, reach that arm toward the anchor, and brace your trunk with your ribs down.
  3. 03Pull your elbow down and back toward the side of your ribs without leaning away from the anchor or rotating your pelvis.
  4. 04Pause briefly with your lat engaged and your working shoulder held away from your ear.
  5. 05Extend your arm toward the anchor under control, complete the prescribed repetitions, and repeat from the opposite half-kneeling stance.
