How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01In a power rack, attach matching resistance bands from secure overhead anchors to both ends of a loaded barbell so assistance is greatest near the floor.
  2. 02Verify equal band tension, stand with the bar over your midfoot, and take your normal deadlift grip and start position.
  3. 03Brace your trunk and drive through the floor to extend your knees and hips while keeping the bar close and level.
  4. 04Stand tall without leaning backward as the assistance decreases near lockout.
  5. 05Return the bar to the floor under control and reset only after confirming both ends remain centered in the bands.
