How to perform it

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 01Set both safety pins in a power rack to the prescribed bottom-squat height and position the loaded bar evenly across them.
  2. 02Move beneath the bar, secure it across your upper back, set your feet, and build full-body tension from the dead-stop position.
  3. 03Drive through each whole foot to extend your hips and knees and raise the bar from the pins.
  4. 04Stand fully without allowing your knees to collapse inward or your chest to fall forward.
  5. 05Squat back to the pins under control, let the bar settle completely, and reset your brace before the next repetition.
